Recording money
Add expenses, income, refunds and transfers in a line or in the full form, then find, fix and organise them.
- Add an expense in one lineTap +, type a line such as "coffee 4.80" in one of six languages and tap the arrow. Tavala reads the amount, currency, category, wallet and date.
- Everything the capture bar understandsEvery format the capture bar reads in six languages - amounts, sums, currencies, dates, categories, wallets, income, refunds, transfers, estimates and trips.
- Add or edit a transaction in the full formThe full form sets every detail of an entry - amount on a keypad, type, category, date, wallet, currency, note, an estimate mark and a trip.
- Record income and refundsStart a line with + for income, or write refund for money back on a purchase. Income counts in Money in; a refund lowers what you spent.
- Move money between your walletsRecord a transfer in the full form by picking a From wallet, a To wallet and an amount. A transfer is not spending or income and shows as one row.
- Log a rough amount or catch up after a few daysPut ~ before an amount to mark it as an estimate, or type "~150 last 3 days" to log a stretch you forgot as one rough entry dated today.
- Edit, delete or undo a transactionTap an entry in Activity to change it, swipe it left to delete it, and tap Undo within about 6 seconds to bring it back. Saving has no undo.
- Find transactions with search and filtersSearch Activity by note, category, wallet or amount, then narrow it by wallet, category, type and dates, and sort by newest, oldest or size.
- Create, rename and remove categoriesAdd categories, rename them and change their icon and color in Settings. Removing a category hides it from the pickers; its entries keep it.
