Disconnect a bank
Disconnect a bank from Connected accounts. Importing stops at once, and you choose whether the imported transactions stay as ordinary entries or are deleted.
Disconnecting a bank stops the import and removes the connection at Plaid straight away. You choose what happens to the transactions it already imported: keep them as ordinary entries, or delete them.
Disconnect a bank
- Open SettingsMoneyConnected accounts. On a phone, Settings is the round person icon at the top right. On an iPad or a Mac it is at the foot of the rail or the sidebar.
- Tap the bank's card. A menu opens with Refresh now, Choose accounts and Disconnect followed by the bank's name.
- Tap Disconnect and the bank's name.
- The Disconnect bank? sheet says: "Importing stops and the connection is removed. Your imported
transactions can stay (as ordinary entries) or be deleted." Choose one:
- Keep transactions keeps every imported entry. They become ordinary entries that you can edit like any other.
- Delete 24 transactions deletes the imported entries. The number is how many this bank imported; if Tavala cannot count them, the button reads Delete imported transactions.
- Cancel closes the sheet and changes nothing.
After you disconnect
- The wallets stay. They are no longer fed by the bank.
- If you keep the transactions, they stay in Activity and in your reports.
- If you connect the same bank again, Tavala recognises accounts it knew and returns each to its wallet: the Choose accounts screen says "Reconnects to this wallet".
- A bank you pay for. If you now pay for more banks than you use, the app can offer Pay for fewer banks: "You pay for 3 banks and now use 2. Nothing changes until your next renewal." Tap the button, such as Pay for 2 banks from your next renewal, or Not now. A message confirms: "From your next renewal, Plus includes 2 banks." This offer appears only for Plus billed through the App Store or Google Play. On the web, Tavala lowers the number itself. See the bank connection add-on.
Stop importing one account only
To keep the connection but stop one account, tap the card, choose Choose accounts, switch the account off and tap Save. The account's caption reads "Stops importing. Its past entries stay."
Good to know
- Plus ending ends your bank connections for you. The card says "Ended with Plus. Its transactions stay." You do not need to disconnect them.
- Deleting your account is a separate step; see delete your account.
